Dr. Zhou completed an orthopedic residency and spine fellowship in China before moving to the United States. He worked for several years as a visiting scholar at MCP Hahnemann before completing his second residency in Pain Management and Rehabilitation at the University of Pennsylvania. After that, he received his pain fellowship training at Thomas Jefferson University. He is board certified by the American Board of Pain Management and Rehabilitation. Dr. Zhou has extensive experience with the diagnosis and treatment of spinal and musculoskeletal disorders, and various pain syndromes. Dr. Zhou is known for his great bedside manner, as well as his clinical skills of thorough imaging review, evaluation, and detailed diagnosis and treatment plan. Dr. Zhou teaches in several medical universities as a professor, and has published more than 50 articles and chapters. He also invented several medical devices and received numerous awards including "America's Top Physician, 2011, 2012 and 2013 in Pain Management". He was recently honored as "Best in Medicine" by American Health Council. He serves several journals as an editorial member. He is recognized nationally as an outstanding pain physician.
Julia Coleman, BS, MS, PA-C began her studies as a Pre-Med student at Rutgers University in 1977. during her studies, she was accepted into the Biomedical summer Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, where she studied the effects of radioactive markers on the reproductive system and pituitary of female rats. She eventually graduated with a major in Biology and minor in Pilosophy. After graduation, she started her family and worked ofr Johnson and Johnson Hospital Services in the customer service department. In that position, she worked in focused groups for Orthopedic components and Interoccular lens implants. Fortunately, she did well and eventually was hired to do inside sales for Janssen Pharmaceutica. In this position, she detailed Hismanal, Duragesic, Nizoral, and Itraconazole to medical providers on the West Coast.
During her employment with Janssen Pharmaceutica, she was accepted into the Physician Assistant Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Piscataway, NJ. She graduated with her BS in Physician Assistant and subsequent MS in Physician Assistant Studies.
For the last 23 years, she has worked as a certified Physician Assistant in various scopes of practice from Pediatrics, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Urology, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and most recently Interventional Pain Management.
She joins Professional Pain Associates after working in Philadelphia at another interventional pain management practice. She is interested in how chronic disease affects the human body and how these diseases produce chronic pain syndromes. With interest, she is happy to address these concerns with her patients and integrate their chronic medical conditions with interventional pain management to better manage their overall health.
